Time-Loop Mystery Visual Novel ‘Summer Snow.’ Launches in English Summer 2027

Cynical Honey’s time-loop mystery visual novel Summer Snow. will launch for PC via Steam in summer 2027 with English and Japanese language support. Its Steam store page is now live, and Robert Roy Dela Serna will handle the English translation.

The story follows Akira Setouchi, a high school sophomore who returns to his seaside hometown for summer vacation after being betrayed by his girlfriend. Back home, he reconnects with childhood friend Madoka Hasumi, stepsister Hikaru Setouchi, and other people from his past, though he remains reluctant to trust them.

Things change after Akira meets a young girl who asks him to grant another girl’s wish. Before long, he becomes trapped in a time loop that forces him to relive the same midsummer day.

A mysterious app called MAZE begins sending Akira missions, including the cryptic objective “AVOID THE CONFESSION.” Akira and Madoka must investigate why the day continues to repeat, who the girl tied to the original request is, and what they need to do to escape.

Gameplay centers on completing MAZE missions and piecing together information gathered across repeated loops. Players use locations, keywords, conversations, and other clues to solve memory-based puzzles and determine how to progress.

Knowledge gained during each cycle can also open new choices. Small changes in conversations and events may point toward different solutions, giving players additional information they can use during later loops.

Summer Snow. does not feature conventional bad endings. Instead, the same day continues repeating until players find the route that allows Akira to break free from the loop. The game will also feature a fully voiced script.
