Team France interview with KroxZ and Dip at OWWC 2026: “We’re the crazy team

The Overwatch World Cup (OWWC 2026) is taking place at BlizzCon 2026, and Team France is one step closer to making esports history. After a 3-0 victory over Australia in the quarterfinals, Loïc “KroxZ” Ricci and Florian “Dip” Lefèvre sat down with esports.gg and talked about the team’s journey to the semifinals, their synergy, what it means to represent France on the world stage, and more!

Team France at Overwatch World Cup 2026

In his interview with esports.gg, KroxZ shared that Team France’s OWWC 2026 roster wasn’t formed randomly. The players already knew each other and played together even before representing the country. These existing relationships created very strong team chemistry.

“At the start, we were all friends, and we all played with each other on the same team,” KroxZ said, recalling duking it out alongside Dip and Brice “FDGod” Monsçavoir. “After that, we just picked the best players from France. When we were practicing in scrims at the time, we saw that we had something together that we didn’t have with the rest. I think we’re all on the same page and having as much fun as we can and being crazy as well.”

Dip agreed, saying that Team France’s synergy is one of its biggest strengths. Since the players are also genuinely close friends outside of competition, that connection helps them handle the pressure during matches.

“We have so much experience together. If you look at other World Cup teams, some players are friends, but we’re much closer, you know? We met in real life outside of Overwatch many times, so that really helps,” Dip said. “I think, when we want to win, especially when things are going well, we just know that we can win a tournament. It really helps.”

Representing France at BlizzCon 2026

Both players shared their thoughts on representing France at BlizzCon 2026 as well. KroxZ said that he couldn’t be more proud of himself and his team. He then enthusiastically pointed to the France pin on his jersey.

Typically, while in a match, headphones prevent players from hearing the roar of the crowd. However, Team France’s supporters were so passionate that Dip actually had to turn up the noise cancellation.

“It’s always really fun to play in front of the crowd — especially when you have people cheering for you. We had some French fans there cheering for us. It was really cool. Actually, I had to turn on my noise suppression a little bit on the headset because I started hearing some people screaming. I think people are gonna be really hyped tomorrow, too.”

The aforementioned 3-0 victory over Team Australia secured Team France’s place in the semifinals against Team Korea on Sept. 13. Equipped with their strong team synergy and the buff from hearing the French crowd’s cheers, KroxZ said that he’s confident about the matchup.

“We’re the crazy team. We’re the dark horses. We’re gonna take the win,” KroxZ and Dip told esports.gg, completing each other’s sentences.

As for parting words, KroxZ jokingly pointed out Dip’s new haircut.

“Dip’s haircut!” KroxZ laughed. “I think we didn’t talk about it enough! Big glow up, he has. So girls, if you’re ready, I can drop Dip’s phone number if you want.”
