It was not a particularly close race as Lee came in with 59.14% of the vote to O'Donnell's 38.6%.

As the 2026 midterms wrap up with a historic democratic swing of leadership in both the Senate and House of Representatives, one of the weirder races was definitely Nevada District 3, where former Halo series composer Marty O’Donnall ran as a Republican and was soundly thrashed by Democrat candidate Susie Lee. Lee followed her win by trolling O’Donnell with his own iconic music.

Susie Lee posted said troll on her personal social media account following the near certainty of her victory on the night of November 3 as US Midterm Elections closed and were counted.

Marty O’Donnell was once beloved as the co-composer of Halo music and its iconic themes in the original games alongside fellow composer Michael Salvatori, and the two have been protective of their work over the years, even through the running of the Halo TV series by Paramount+ (now Skydance). However, O’Donnell has also been a supporter of Donald Trump over the years and even received his endorsement for his Nevada Senate race. In fact, one of O’Donnell’s promises was that he would work with Trump to “destroy the Flood once and for all,” with the Flood in this case being compared to undocumented immigrants in the United States.

The 38.6 percent of votes suggests that was not a popular position in a time when corruption has been a high-level concern among voters. You can follow the Halo series for any further updates and news.
