LEVEL-5 Reveals Inazuma Eleven: Bold Revolution, but Its Alleged AI Use Is

During its September 10 Vision 2026 II Dream Broadcast, developer LEVEL-5 revealed Inazuma Eleven: Bold Revolution, a direct sequel to 2025’s Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.

The game, whose release date remains unconfirmed, will feature a new central character in Shane Starfall (Nagi Furohoshi), with the Victory Road cast also returning. According to LEVEL-5’s CEO Akihiro Hino, his unusual background will be one of the title’s major plot points. LEVEL-5 is expected to reveal more details about the project during an upcoming LEVEL-5 Vision Broadcast.

However, both the broadcast and the first glimpses of the game did the opposite of filling the community with excitement, with many flagging what they believed was blatant generative AI use by the studio. You can check out the full livestream below and draw your own conclusions.

If true, and unfortunately for all fans, this won’t be LEVEL-5’s first AI controversy, as the studio openly embraced its use during development all the way back in 2023. At the time, it said it used AI mainly to create concept art, which it then used as references for the final products.

Going back only a year, Hino himself made the news after making AI comments during a Top Game Creators Academy speech. Months later, in December 2025, the CEO was also heavily criticized for defending the use of AI through a long post on both social media and LEVEL-5’s official site.

Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC. Although the game’s current sales numbers are unknown, the title became the franchise’s second-biggest release after surpassing 800,000 units in January 2026. Make sure to also check out our review.
